13th Chursächsische Festival Bad Elster
»Paths around Wagner & Verdi«
The Chursächsische Festival Bad Elster, which was initiated in 2001 by the former Saxon State Minister Dr. Thomas de Maizière and GMD Florian Merz, celebrate their 13th anniversay in 2013. In addition to central German, (or Chursächsiche) culture of varying genres, traditional outstanding cultural events with the appropriate culinary, touristy and health-orientated programme are offered in former royal Saxonian ambience.
The Saxon finance minister, Prof. Georg Unland and His Royal Highness Alexander, Prince of Saxony, took over the sponsorship.

»The Abduction from the Seragnio« - The Chursächsische Philharmonic on historic classical instruments accompanies this opera, under the direction of GMD Florian Merz together with the internationally-renowned Ensemble Sarband in the King Albert Theatre Bad Elster.
